Hunter's Tropical Medicine and Emerging Infectious Disease is a comprehensive, well-written resource. The book includes chapters based on organs, skills, services and topics, in addition to the traditional pathogen-based materials. Travelers' health and emerging infectious diseases are discussed. Many charts and illustrations are included.
Some illustrations are full color while others are black and white. There is also a link to an online version.
I highly recommend this.

A grey review for a grey book.

I was a bit disappointed with this text. I expected the book to be in full colour not just a boring gray/blue and white with black and white pictures. The content is GREAT as expected but I'm returning it and will just use the Oxford Handbook of Tropical Disease and CDC online/Uptodate. For the price and weight it's just not worth it.
I feel this ed. is a step down from the amazing 8th ed.

This book is one of the best text books I have worked with in a while. I am currently working in Africa, instructing infectious disease classes, and this book was perfect. It is a book that has a lot more statistics applicable to the area I am working, reducing the amount of time I need researching other sources.
