YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO USE THIS BOOK!!

It is NOT stated anywhere that just because you can buy this book does not mean that you can USE this book. This book is a workbook that is meant to accompany the clinical textbook of the same name. It is a question and answer book that does NOT come with the answers. It states that the answers are avail. through an interactive learning website (evolve) but if you are NOT an instructor...you may NOT have access to the answers, rendering the book utterly useless for those who buy it for personal growth, or independent study. (For example if you are like me and need to study for the VTNE or state board exam but have already graduated vet tech school.)If you are not a vet tech student where this is required text, you are NOT going to be able to get access to the answers...rendering the book totally useless. This book is sold here, at barns and noble, web med and many other places..NO WHERE is it stated that this is the case until you OPEN the book and read the last sentence on the first page, then are led to the evolve website and 30 min later you find out you cannot be granted access to the answers if your not a teacher. I personally called several other distributers of this book that state falsely that the answers are provided and had them CHECK if they had a copy that indeed provided the answers. ALL THREE different places admitted that they had advertised it falsely and that the answers are in fact NOT available. BUYER BEWARE!!!
Shame too...this book is a DIRECT and fantastic companion to the 7th edition of the clinical textbook. I am very disappointed that I cannot use this would be great resource to study for the VTNE and state board exam. I am a vet tech grad (1999) that was using the 3rd edition. This book is ten times what the 3rd edition is. (referring to the clinical textbook not the workbook..workbooks were previousl unavailable.

Essential study tool

This workbook is a great study tool to use along with the main text book. Before I had it, reading and rereading the text was my method of learning the material, which quickly became boring. Doing the exercises in this workbook are a much more interesting way to study, and sometimes even point out some misinterpretations I had made.

I hate this book

I had to buy this book for school. It goes with a VERY large textbook that's a MAJOR pain. The sections in the main book go on forever. Then the workbook has just as much and goes on forever. I HATE doing cross word puzzles and in almost every chapter this book has them. We have found that the workbook has mistakes and the cross words are wrong and are missing numbers, or the words don't line up either. I didn't have a choice and had to get it for school, but if you are looking for something "extra" there are better things out there. They just came out with a new revision of this workbook and the main book. I just purchased them a year ago for school then had to pay AGAIN to buy them. The new workbook is the same. A lot of redundancy and those stupid crossword puzzles. Don't let them fool you either by touting they have "on-line" stuff to help you. It is not a lot and has very FEW things that can actually help you. I have a book from the Wiley-Blackwell publishing and Delmar Cengage Learning. Both of their website are GREAT! They actually give you most of the photos and power points on their websites you have access to. I use them to copy the pictures when I have memorize equipment, parasites, etc. It really helps.
